Journalist and insider Jeff Grubb revealed that Respawn is working on a new game in the Titanfall universe. Currently it is at the prototyping stage.
According to Grubb, the project is being handled by Steve Fukuda, the game director of the first two Titanfall games. However, it is hardly worth waiting for a direct continuation in the form of the third part – we are most likely talking about a spin-off. Recall that the same Apex Legends shares the same universe with Titanfall.
There have been rumors in the past that Respawn is making another game based on Apex Legends and Titanfall. However, Bloomberg reported in 2023 that the development of the said project has been discontinued.
And recently it became known about the cancelation of the unannounced first-person shooter on “Star Wars”, which was also engaged Respawn. EA management said that the studio will focus on the existing series – Star Wars: Jedi and Apex Legends.
Exciting news for Titanfall fans! The prospect of a new game in the Titanfall universe, even if it’s a spin-off, is something to look forward to.
It’s intriguing to hear about Respawn’s continued work on the Titanfall universe, especially with Steve Fukuda leading the project. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!
While it’s disappointing to hear about the cancelation of the unannounced Star Wars FPS, the news of Respawn’s focus on existing series like Titanfall and Apex Legends is promising.
The Titanfall universe has so much potential for exploration and storytelling. Looking forward to seeing how Respawn expands upon it with this new project.
