Tom Henderson’s sources have shared gameplay footage of a new conditional free-to-play game in the Sonic The Hedgehog series for mobile devices. It’s reportedly codenamed Project Toys, and its estimated release title is Sonic Toys Party.
The first to talk about the new mobile spin-off of the series was reliable insider MbKKKssTBhz5. According to him, the game will be released this year, and its gameplay elements are reminiscent of Fall Guys.
Henderson confirms his colleague’s information, noting that Project Toys is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. In addition, the gameplay of the upcoming novelty is indeed reminiscent of the popular battle royal Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
According to the insider, the gameplay seen shows different Sonic characters participating in 32-player matches. Among the latter, Henderson mentions obstacle course competitions, boss battles to the last hero, and races to the finish line with ring collecting or simple survival.
Project Toys has yet to be officially announced. The most recent game in the series to date is last year’s Sonic Dream Team for Apple Arcade.
