The head of publishing department of Larian Michael Daus announced important news for all Xbox Series X users. The developers could not fit the Collector’s Edition (Deluxe Edition) for Microsoft console on three disks, so it will include four disks at once.
Interestingly, the studio exceeded the limit by only 500 MB. Despite this, Larian refused to cut anything from the physical edition of Baldur’s Gate 3. Due to the addition of a new disc to the bundle, the first wave of Deluxe Edition shipments may be postponed from March 25 to early April. Shipping will be in order of availability, but the first fans will get the PC version – the lack of game files on disks has made life much easier for developers.
And if the Collector’s Edition for PC refused to disks, then on PlayStation 5 they will be present in the set. Because of the special method of compression of games for Sony console, Larian was able to fit all Baldur’s Gate 3 on just two disks. Also in the Deluxe Edition put the soundtrack on disks, world map, stickers and other souvenirs.
As for the game itself, Baldur’s Gate 3 recently received a hotfix with the Mintara fix. More than 10 million people have played the RPG since its release in August 2023. Larian is looking to add official modding support in the future.
